Deb Chaney, SCA is a professional abstract artist working in mixed media, acrylics and collage - painting small and large paintings on canvas, panel and paper. Predominantly self-taught, she has been painting and selling her contemporary abstract work for over a decade to private collectors throughout the world. In 2010 Rainmaker Films, Inc. commissioned and used her artwork in a film. Workshop Opportunities with Deb Chaney

Currently, Deb Chaney offers three 2-day intensive weekend workshops in Vancouver:



1.) Energizing and Experimental: An introduction to abstract painting in mixed media and acrylics, focusing on creative process with focus on design and color. 



2.) Thick and layered acrylic painting: An advanced experience allowing participants to build and dig back into thick layers of acrylics and mixed media, exploring transparent, translucent and opaque layers. Sanding, etching and removal techniques are the beginning of the fun. 



3.) Collage creations: Learn the fundamentals of creating art using collage -- stained papers, marbling, split ink, gold leaf, transfers, lazertran, and embedded objects.



Deb also hosts Illuminate the Artist Within (TM) retreat/workshop which is a 5-day experience for artists looking to delve deeper into the inner creative process and spiritual nature of art making.



For those in driving distance to Deb's studio, she offers a one-on-one mentorship program to help support artists in their own projects on a weekly basis for 4-8 weeks.
