MINI BIO:

Magali Gauthier was born and raised in France, near Paris.

She got her high school diploma in Mathematics and Philosophy in 1992 and then jumped into active life, doing different kind of jobs, mostly in costumers services...

In 2000, Magali finally enters the movie industry through a major movie subtitling company lab in Paris (L.V.T.) and did some editing on reels for 6 years.

It's in the year 2006 that Magali comes to Vancouver to be introduced to the production aspects of films. She meets Attila Kállai (Atka Films) who teaches her the making of films till this day.
Together, they wrote, produced, directed, edited numerous shorts, feature, documentaries, p.s.a. ... such as: Cold Side Of The Pillow, Take It Like A Man, F.Y.T., Breakup, Breaking News (which won the Video Out contest for Out In School and was shown at the 20th Vancouver Queer Film Festival)... to name few.

Magali also sometimes helps out fellow filmmakers such as Meeshelle Neal for her first short film, as producer and writer, "Romeo & Juliet in Stanley Park"; Kryshan Randel for the short "Jack", part of the 48 hours bloodshot film competition 2009...

She has no desire in becoming big or famous but just likes to be involved in the art of making films and above all, films that have something to say. :)

She created her own humble production company in 2007 called SILLYCOD PROD and is very proud to concider herself as an artisan filmmaker.
